  1. Can downloaderd file be ran through programs like svcd to get thr quality up a little (mostly on those 150 to 250 size files?Also I've encoded a few movies before an I was wondering what are those pupleish looking blocks that sometime come up then go away??

  2. If it looks shabby when you download it, you can make it look just a hair better (but not much better) using various smoothing filters. Barely, and I mean just barely.

    Sometimes the SMR (Angel Portion) codec causes this problem, if you have it installed remove it.

    Also during conversion with program like TMPGEnc you need to higher the VFAPI plug-in plugin settings (DirectShow)

    Select options > environmental settings
    click the VFAPI plug-in tab
    right click the "DirectDraw" and select higher priority, do this several times until its at the top with a value of 4

    Apart from that, if the source has them (CAM movies) then there is not much you can do, any filters used would make the rest horrable.
