is it possible to make a menu on a dvd(not a chapter selection) like special features and such???

  2. Yes, but what you can do with menus depends entirley on the capabilities of our authoring proggy. All should be able to do special features type menus tho as they are simply standard menus pointing to extra mpeg files on the disc.

  4. Like bugster said it all depends on what you are authoring with. It's not a problem on anything I use, you can make as many menus as you want.

I'm using Apple's DVD studio Pro at the moment which lets you do pretty much what you want.

Why don't you list the names of various authoring programs then? I only know of I-Author and nothing else. is Apple DVD Studio only for MACs?
I'm here about 3 months now and can do KVCDs well, and can convert the avis using TMPeng and VirtualDub and was ready to try making menus. If you list the names I can look for them then. I still can't figure out how to remove the TMD logo from the movies using the logoaway in VirtualDub, it asks for exact co-ordinates, which to me is like a guessing game, lol.
Do they have anything like KVCD for SVCD format yet?

If it is called "Apple DVD Studio" then I would gues it is only for Apple computers!
As for PC DVD authoring Apps, the ones that I have heard (and some I have used) are:

    MyDvd
    DvdIt (LE, PE, SE)
    Dazzle Dvd Complete
Ulead DVD mivie Factory and Workshop
Spruce Up (no longer sold but demos and cracks available on the net)
    Reel DVD
    DVD Maestro

I am sure there are others, some of which may even be affordable (the last two are considered pro level apps and cost accordingly)

  9. Yes DVDSP is apple only. They also do an entry level iDVD 2. As for PC check out the ones mentioned. I know reel and dazzle are worth checking out. Also pinnacle's website. Pinnacle pro-1 is one I know of.

Also for another source of advice you can check out insideDVD on the DV forums.

    later.
