I'm using mAC3dec to try and split an AC3 file into 5 separate AIFF files. Only problem is, whenever I click on start to begin the decoding, the program quits and gives an error message of type '1' (whatever that means). So, what do I do? Is there another program that will split my AC3 files, on either Mac or PC?
My system is an iMac G3 with 512mb RAM. I've tried using versions 1.5 and 1.5.1 on both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X, with similar results. The program does convert AC3 to AIFF/PCV/MP3 alright, and the normalization even works. It's just the splitting that's making it crash... unfortunately, I desperately need to split a file, to get just the dialogue from a particular scene.

sometimes you have to run the "fix" operation first before it will split the dolby digital file into multiple mono aiff files. try that.
