  2. Chances are that if they have banned IM clients then they probably also have a program monitoring the web sites that you are browsing. Most companies now have it in their employment contracts that wrongful internet/computer usage is a sackable offence but if you want to try this out:

    1) Find a site that is relevant to the business you are doing: might be something like www.cnn.com
    2) Then go to www.cjb.net and sign up for an account. Use a name like www.cnnnews.cjb.net
    3) Under the options check the option for "JavaChat"
    4) Set the site to redirect to the proper CNN.com

    Now you should be able to go through www.cnnnews.cjb.net and underneath it will be a JavaChat window. Now just tell the person you want to chat with the site (www.cnnnews.cjb.net) and they will be able to chat with you as long as you are also on the site. If a web browsing monitor program is running it should just display that you were browsing the www.cnn.com site and the JavaChat will go undetected.
