  1. Hi Friends

I am planning to buy a new digital videocam. Currently I have a analog one and I wrote more than 10 pieces of VCD of home videos. But I am planning to write my own DVD, thus I need to have a new videocam. There are so many brands and models on market that I don't know how to choose one. My requirement is a one with best video quality. The function of still picture is not important.

Anybody can tell me how to choose a videocam and do you have any recommendations?

    Thanks a lot.

All DV and Digital8 camera record 500 lines
you will need to go to "pro" cameras to get any significant increase in quality and they cost a lot of money

Most camera offer similar features but here are some useful tips

an optical stabliser is better than digital stabliser
ignore just about any digital zoom ratios as they look crap
not all DV camera'a can transcode between analogue and digital
not all DV camera's offer DV in and out - some still offer out only

if you have an anologue camera is there a digital model "upgrade" that allows you to use some of the accessories of your old camera
I can use most of my Sony accessories - batteries, light, boom mic on newer digital models

  3. For best quality, get a 3CCD camcorder.
