    I found a site that showed how to hack the mintek 2580 and i was wondering, why would i want to hack my dvd player. It says it enable region hack and macrovision and gives you access to some loop holes menu. can someone tell me what is all this stuff is and why i might want it.

    Some DVD's are region specific (England, China, etc) which means they won't play on DVD players here in the states. You would hack your microvision so you can copy DVD to VHS.
