hello!
i hope somebody knows whats goin on here:
i had this problem a couple of times. with diffrent movies.
what i did:
i'm frameserving a movie via .avs from vob files (hard disk) to CCE.
within CCE i used all recent settings like mentioned in doom9's guide for advanced CCE multi pass.
i used bitrate-viewer to examine the vobs. some params vary like upper field first and scan order but usually lead to no problem.
i think my problems come with interlaced content. here's what i get from bitrateviewer in cases where i miss the end of the movie:
Num. of picture read: 26
Stream type: MPEG-2 MP@ML VBR
Resolution: 720*576
Aspect ratio: 16:9 Generic
Framerate: 25.00
Nom. bitrate: 9800000 Bit/Sec
VBV buffer size: 112
Constrained param. flag: No
Chroma format: 4:2:0
DCT precision: 10
Pic. structure: Frame
Field topfirst: Yes
DCT type: Field
Quantscale: Nonlinear
Scan type: Alternate
Frame type: Interlaced
the content is PAL and stays PAL, so i shouldnt have to do something special like pulldown...
i DIDNT check progressive frames cause to me the content seems field based: pic.struc is frame, but DCT Type and Frame Type say interlaced ????
anyway: for another movie, where i had the same problem, i tried to encode with and without progressive frames, but neither did work. still missing the last minutes.
after remuxing the vobs the movie is too short. although the encoded .m2v is complete. looks like a timing problem, but i don't to NTSC -> PAL or something. PAL stays PAL !
doesnt interlaced mean half resolution?
CCE SP guide only mentions to use "half vertical" and "half horizontal" resolution only together? but them i only got vcd like resoulution??
as u see i have many questions and no answers. i realy hope somebody can help me. WHY THE **** DO I MISS THE LAST MINUTES OF THE MOVIE ????
HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLP !!!

use dvd2avi and load up the vob(s) and select preview and scan to the end of the film and check that the end of the movie is actually there.
what did you use to rip the vob(s) to HD? I have had this problem with a few dvd's using smartripper and others. I had to use files or backup or I wouldn't get the whole video.
that's the only time I have had this problem.
