Yes, Re-encode the video using TMPGEnc and then make the .mpg into vcd using VcdImager. Apex is picky about the bin and cue layout

I have not got Centropy files - are they SVCD and the Apex can only play VCD? If thats the problem, have a search on the player reviews and have a look at the Sony NS300. This player has the same problem and the workaround is documented there. It certainly worked for my Sony, if you are puzzled, please give me a bit of detail about your problem and I will try to help

Im pretty sure it has alot do with the way Centrophy encodes ( XVCD , PAL ) I think, but the Apex 600 does or did play SVCDs no problem

just re-encode the Svcd again to Svcd. not much to it. SOme Centropy doesn't work becuase they bin/cue layout must a certain way so you have to use VcdImager to make the bin and cue, then burn. I must re-encode the .mpg from Svcd to Svcd if there are bad packets which give you an error in VcdImager but that has only happend once. SO first try just making a bin/cue with VcdImager if there is a bad packets error just re-do the Svcd. The Apex-600a can play (X)(S)Vcds fine, it's just picky about the layout.
