  1. I'm new here and have tried to open virtual dub and it tells me that Virtualdub has caused an error in VIRTUALDUB.EXE. and that virtual dub will now close. I've tried to uninstall it and reinstall it but it says the same thing. I want to convert some dowloads and can't continue untill I can get virtualdub to work. Please help a newbie!

Scan your computer for virus's first, then download a new copy from the author's site only. http://www.virtualdub.org/index

Are you using XP Do you have other programs running in the background ? How much memory do you have ? do you have filters in the Vdub folder. Have you installed the SMR codec (Angel potion) if so un-install it.
