VirtualDub Error

When I try to open The Others in virtual dub I get an error. "Cannot determine filetype of D:\The Others DVDRip.avi". I downloaded another version of the movie but its the same error.

What is this?

However if you already installed "All" the codec's, you have downloaded a fake...

Load into TMPGENC, if the audio does not show up in the browse, its a fake

I have all codecs installed.
And the movie works great in the media player.
I dont understand..

It's true, I thought I had a genuine divx5 codec, but when i went to encode it was all black. Try the nimco pack, if you havent. it worked wonders for my situation.

right click the file and select properties, try to find out what type of codec's are in use.
