I'm having problems with my video quality. I capture with my AIW Radeon with Mpeg2, 480x480, 4.0Mbps then run it through TMPGenc then burn it to a svcd and the picture is "boxy" with movement but when there is a graphic up there it is perfect (at least the same as the TV). I've tried messing around with the bit rate to the standard 2.4 and not encoding, and also encoding. I think I"ve tried about everything. Any ideas. The main problem is with movement you can see boxes and sometimes the video slows down.
Also, there is "fuzz" on the audio, a constant background shhhhhhh sound. Any ideas on the audio. Thank you.

When there is high motion, the MPEG format sacrifices a little quality so it can maintain the rapid changes. Increase the bitrate and it won't have to sacrifice so much.
Double click the little icon in the corner that looks like a speaker.
click on options
in the menu that drops down, click on properties
in the new box that pops up, click on the circle beside recording
click ok
under the slider labled 'microphone' is a check box,
if the check box is labled mute, make sure it is on.
if the check box is labled select, make sure it is off. -
The problem more than likely is that fact that the ATI realtime mpeg encoding software does not handle rapid change to fast motion with lower bitrate. Realtime professional hardware encoders are much better than software encoders and encoders like CCE and TMPGEnc are offline encoders which can optimize better than realtime software encoders. I had the sample problem as you, the best bet is to save the video uncompressed with Huffy codec or save encode it with ATI software @ 15meg bitrate and re-encode it with CCE or TMPGEnc back down to 2.4meg ( 2.5meg is SVCD's legal limit ).
