Folks,
I'm probably the most NEWBIE in this Forum. I've been looking for similar problem in other topics but I didn't find any tip.
I just bouhgt the AIW Rageon 8500 willing to capture some VHS tapes, wathc some TV and play some games.
I have a P4 1.8G, 512Mb, 80Gb HD running XP Home.
The problem I'm facing is the following:
When ever I'm capturing anything from the Analog Input, the image seems good but at the bottom of it, we may see that are some problems because few lines appear NOT to be right ( about 2% of the window). Some kind of interference. ( sorry, I'm also a foreigner I don't know the right expression to describe the problem).
I'm not loosing any frame at the capture, and this problem is happening in all resolutions I've tried ( VCD, DVD, SVCD)
I'm using the programs that came with the Card - MMC 7.7. I tried to use some others but crashed my OS. I re-install it from "Zero" yesterday.
I've tried to replace the source ( Video Camera x VHS Player ) but the problem stays the same.
When I capture from the TV, I don't have the problem.
I appreciate any help, Thanks in advance.![]()

The problem your describing is not really a problem at all, at least not from a technical stand point. What your seeing at the bottom is known as head switching noise generated by the vcr. Normally this noise is masked out on your TV due to overscan. You can set up a custom template in MMC to capture a cropped video under the Digital VCR tab and select custom. Hope this helps.....

Ok i too have had this problem & i use mmc but i dont understand what your saying here
" MMC to capture a cropped video under the Digital VCR tab and select custom."
how do i crop video under mmc"Man who walk through airport turnstile backwards
going to Bangkok." -
Just select custom from settings in digital vcr tab. You get to this by checking the check bock on tv control panel. Select a template you want and click edit. the first thing that will come up is a title which will be copy of named template title. Change this to any name you like for example if you had chosen the vcd template you can call it vcd cropped. Now click next and you will see the settings for the template and there will be a check box saying cropped video. Click this box leaving all the others the same and proceed to next with no changes till done.

Folks,
Thank you very much for the tip. It fixed the capturing issue however it generated another one.
I was using the VCDEasy to generate the BIN/CUE files to generate a SVCD and the program NOW is reporting a error saying that 448x448 is NOT supported to generate NTSC SVCD file.
Would you have another tip?
Thanks in advance. -
Since you're using this video for a SVCD, try it with the head switching noise. Chances are you won't see it on the TV.

I just ran into the same problem, but I went ahead anyway & made a small VCD just to check it out & the lines did not appear on my TV set. They did appear on my computer watching the AVI, but went away once I viewed on the disc which is all that matters to me. I'm using the Studio Deluxe package.
