  1. I was wodnering if DVD burners/writers can copy movies that you rent and then put it on a blank DVD disk? casue that is the only reason i would get one..... and if the process is long and hard or if it is simple..

    if your movie comes in at under 4.7G you should be able to rip'n'burn to DVD-r. If it is over that then you have a DVD-9 (dual layered) DVD and you will have to chop something out, like special features, soundtracks etc. Worst case is you will have to re-encode the video to a lower bitrate to fit it on a DVD-r.

    As most movies these days weigh in at around 6G you will have to do some chopping and re-author the DVD....

    .....or you could save your money and buy the movies you want...
