  1. Can I only export from vdub as an avi or can I export to an mpg 1 or 2? I was looking on the site for something that says how to export as an mpg, but came up w/nothing. I want to export my avi as an mpg1 or mpg2 so I can make a VCD or SVCD out of it w/out having to reconvert.

Since mpeg is a different format than avi, you have to convert the avi to mpg with a MPEG encoder. There is no other way, if you want a (S)VCD.

  3. In other words I can only make avi's w/vdub and not mpg's?

You would think there would be some patch or plug-in that would allow you to open an avi in vdub and spit out an mpg and in effect make it an mpg encoder on top of everything else it can do.

The reason I was asking was because I used the logo away plug-in to remove subtitles from a DivX and I didn't want to have to encode w/another encoder like tmpgenc. I guess I wanted vdub to remove the subtitles and make an mpg all at once.

You can use Virtual Dub to add filters or whatever you want to change and then frameserve to TMPGEnc or any other MPEG encoder. Just use the .vdr file from Vdub as videosource in TMPG.
