  1. I used to be able to encode at 224, 192 etc kb/s, but now virtualdub is limiting my mp3 encoding capablility to 128
I havn't changed anything on my system, to my knowledge, and click "show all formats", but still no high bit rates....any idea how I might get this back?

    thanks

Try installing the Nimo codec pack, it has plenty of MP3 settings, also visit www.goldwave.com download and download the plug-ins, cool MP3 codec's there.

  3. Thanks KingJ
I seem to have it sorted now! I don't get why they disappeared in the first place though
I got the Nimo codec pack - don't the quality of the different mp3 codecs differ though? How does this one rate, do you know?

Which one ?, well like Video codec's they serve a purpose, some work better than others when you doing different conversions, mono, stereo MP3 ram playback, some squeeze the last k out, while others don't go in for that.
