Capping HDTV...

Someone has posted some CSI TV episodes in full HDTV resolution and the result was incredible...

All posts to this individual have not resulted in an answer, so I am putting it out here.

Does anyone have an idea in terms of capping at that high a screen resolution (1920 x 1080).

I like people that are capturing TV programmes with an HD TV-Tuner card to comment. For the U.S. I think it is not justifiable simply because there are not enough HDTV-Channels. Maybe I'm wrong, so I will like to hear from others. We are now used to see at least 200+ Channels since Cable TV has high penetration in the U.S. Over the Air Broadcast amounts to no more than 3-5 HDTV Stations per Large U.S. City.

If your Cable Company is re-transmitting large numbers of HDTV Channels via cable then it would be a justification for HDTV capture and an HDTV, but that is not the case.

The otherway to look at it is that with an HDTV capture card you should be able to capture the best quality of Standard NTSC signal since the card has the capacity for HD.

I like to capture HDTV signals but it doesn't make sense,....I think?

I don't know what is the HDTV scene in Europe or Asia. Maybe they are also limited to few channels?

If you are capturing HDTV what are you using?

How many Gigabytes of Hardisk space are you taking up for 30min or 60min show?
