Does adding subtitles using to avi and encoding to vcd cause
the file to be biger?
and does the quality of the movie stays the same?

meant to say using virtual dub to tmpgenc program.
and is there different in the size of the vcd with subtitles to the vcd with out subtitles and also if there is a different in the quality. -
Adding subtitles will make NO difference to filesize in a standard VCD.
Quality should remain the same as well - although some people may argue the sharp subtitle lettering is difficult for the MPEG algorithm to compress efficiently (i.e. produce artifacts)
