    And it wont do it.
    Lets say its a movie called 'test.wmv', I try renaming it to 'test.asf' so I can open it with TMPGEnc, but all i get is 'test.asf.wmv'

    Why wont it rename the file to 'test.asf'?

    Thanx for the help, this newbie forum is a godsend

    Open it in media player. And click SAVE AS. and do this, Place " marks around your file name including the extenstion. Example


    To change Testvideo.wmv to asf do this,
    "testvideo.asf"
    click save and it will now have the asf extension.
