  1. I have a Hauppauge WinTV PIC Card and I’m running Win2000. Does anyone know of a good Capture Program that will allow me to schedule capturing, change channels, and specify which Codec I am going to use. Ideally I would like to specify different Codec for different captures, but that is not important. I have PowerVCR (bought if for use with my ATI Wonder USB) but I can’t get it to work and its capture quality is not that good. VirtualDub has no scheduling, and AVI_IO doesn’t change channels with my card and Win2000.

Thanks, in advance, for you advice.

  2. I am thinking of getting the Hauppauge WinTVGO, at this time I think I would need to be able to get the generic drivers to get the card to produce PAL768x576 output quality to the capture software, the Hauppauge drivers only allow PAL352x240). The only card that I know of which comes with software to do VCR functions is the Matrox G450 eTV, but it is more expensive. My intention was to write a small computer program to control my capture software (probably VirtualDub) and whatever TV software comes with the WinTVGO. Perhaps someone has already written such a program.

  3. There is a scheduling program you can download from Hauppauge's website. Have you tried that?

  4. Hey,

My card came with a Scheduling Program... The WinTV PVR, i beleive it is availble for download at http://www.haupage.com and then support and win tv pvr...

Also with the PVR you can set all the settings you want to, so I would go with the PVR instead of the GO... I love the PVR, i schedule Voyager to run everynight and TNG!!! I have been burning them on SVCD, with awsome results, but when I get my new compaq in a few days, I will be recording at a high bitrate and doing DVD!!! My experiences with the PVR have been much better then some of the other peoples i have heard about... I had a audiosync problem for a few weeks, and it was making me crazy... Then they released a update that fixed it, so its all good now!

  5. Also, Hans33

The winTV PVR has VCR like features... Including Recording directly to Mpeg-1 or Mpeg-2 CBR and VBR... Also pause, snapshot, scheduling it to record your favorite programs...
