This may have been posted before and if so please direct me to it but
I would like to cut a 1.4 gig avi into 2 parts and have the 2 parts match.
That is, when play it I would like the end of part 1 to match the begining
of part 2.
This is still part of my big experience with a VERY troublesome asf. I have
posted on this problem in the Newbie Conversion section. I am almost
done but I ran into a problem with Virtual Dub. It crapped out about 3/4
of the way through the compression process. I decided to split it in to
two pieces but I would like these two to match if not exactly as close to
perfect as possible.
Thanks for any input.

That looks great for AVI files.
But is there a good one for mpeg's. I've had trouble with TMPGenc losing some of the sound in the parts.
Can someone please tell me one that works better? -
For mpg I just set the start frame then the end frame to be able to fit on one cd could never cut mpgs personaly always had problems.

First I cut the original beginning and ending off. Then I load up the
beginning, then the episode, then the ending. They have to be in that
order for the merging to work.
I have done this to 4 mpegs already and the only problem I have is getting
the part where I cut it to match. Since TPMGEnc is so fast with these
files it only takes a matter of about a 1/2 hour to do one 22 minute
episode. -
I've tried TMPG but I do uncomplient SVCDs and everytime I load it in TMPG it freezes up so I just set my beginning and end and just encode that way. I usually do 40-45min segments. And uncomplient usually is
Min 0, Avg 2000-2750, Max 4500 in CCE 3pass vbr.
