4x DVD-R?

Does anyone know when were likely to see 4X DVD-R burners surfacing? For example, does anyone have any idea when the A05 (or whatever the successor to the A04) will be released?

Should I take the plunge and get an A04 now, or save me £££ and wait a while?

I just bought the DVR104 and Im really pleased with it.
The 2x standard isnt official, just a Pioneer thing, so I wouldnt expect 4x soon, not with DVD-R anyway. Maybe DVD+R but i wouldnt go that route.

contacted Pioneer and they said there was no 4x burner coming up.

they aslo said that the info for what discs that would burn 2x is in firmware. so shouldnt it be possible to hack that?
