  1. ok i tried converting one avi movie to vcd.. it was about 23 minutes long and the final vcd came out to be about 233 mb.... but then i tried to convert another avi it was again... 23 minutes... but when i converted it to vcd the final file was 600 mb?? i dont get it because both movies were the same length but one was so much bigger can anyone help me to make the size smaller??

  2. If you encoded a 23 minute video and the resulting mpeg file wound up being the normal ~230MB, that's OK for a compliant VCD. However, if you encoded a ~23 minute video and the resulting mpeg file wound up being ~800MB, then you didn't make a compliant 1150/224 VCD, you made a XVCD or XSVCD with an average bitrate of ~3036/224! (assuming the audio was 224) You might want to make sure you didn't have the wrong template loaded, or that someone else didn't alter the template that you normally use.

  3. but i was using the project wizard and the bitrate was 1150... =/ but i will try changin the settings manually by myself... ill tell u the results =/

  4. If any one else uses that PC, it is possible that they unlocked the default VCD template and jacked up the bitrate. A long shot, but it's all I can think of right now.

  6. It's not that the audio is screwed up and is after the movie? I mean, 23 minutes movie followed by 23 minutes of audio. That would double the size of the movie, almost at least.

  7. yes it was the audio... first i had to extract it with virtualdub.. then convert th wave file to mp2 with tmpeg... then put the avi as the video source and the mp2 as the audio file
