  1. I have a Creative PC-DVD player for my computer and it came with the Creative Dxr3 Decoder Board. I installed it in my system and it messed up my VIVO module. I could not get anything to work on it correctly and I tried just about everything under the sun to get it to work.

My question is can I use the DVD player in my computer without using the Dxr3 decoder card with it?

    Thanks

  2. Well, the answer is maybe. You could possibly go out and buy a software player like PowerDVD. This will put alot of work on your CPU though.

  3. Yes thats your best bet just use a software DVD decoder. Unless you have a slow CPU like 300Mhz or less. My buddy has a P4 2GIG with a Geforce 4 128MB DDR and a DVD decoder card well it worked fine but he needed to free a PCI slot soooo he took the decoder card out and went with Power DVD and to tell you the truth it worked the same....

  4. Faster the better, my 500Mhz celeron stutters at mpeg 2 video in DVD quality. Only do it if your cpu is like 800Mhz or higher, I would recommend 1GHz or higher.
