  1. I d/led Not Another Teen Movie off of WinMX and when I open it in VDub it comes back with a message saying :
"VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during processing for better compatibility"

..and when I play the movie..most of the sound is in sync but at times it will speed up making it look like a dubbed chinese film and it is really annoying. I imagine that has something to do with the Variable Bitrate, but when I decompress and compress back into a CBR .avi it doesn't fix the sound. That message makes it sound like it will fix it automatically but I've tried different methods to no avail...that message just keeps coming up about "Improper VBR encoding". Any replies would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  2. Try this, might work.

in vdub, select audio->direct stream copy. Then file->save wav. This will save the VBR audio out to a file. Then use BeSweet or Headac3he (tools section, left of page) to convert the vbr audio to (almost) whatever format you want (uncompressed wave?). You can the re-multiplex this with the original avi if you wish.

    Hope this helps
