When reading all the helps and such I notice that for VCD the res is 352X240 and for SVCD 480X480. For best capture and quickest encoding should I use these settings and adjust the bitrate for better quality?? When capturing mpeg2 for SVCD I seem to get better results when I check the "constant bitrate" rather than variable.....does that seem to hold up for you guys as well? Any tips or lessons learned would be appreciated. Andy

well the best way to get the clearest capture is to capture uncompressed avi as described in this guide....

i believe you are capturing directly to mpeg2, which is not the best way to go. real-time encoders rarely have very good quality compared to standalone encoders (like tmpgenc or cce).
