Okay, I just found out about this vcd stuff like weeks ago so I am trying to make a vcd. I already have downloaded a few divx movies from kazaa and want to burn them to a cd to play in my dvd player.
Unfortunately, the movies I have so far are 1 file and will not fit on one cd so I read some how to guides about compression and downloaded all the software needed for that. However, I suppose since I do not have a dvd player in my computer, I wouldn't be able to use clad (I believe it is).
SO I thought that maybe I could cut the file in half and burn it to 2 cds. So far I have downloaded ulead video studio and moviexone because it said that I could edit with those programs but since I am not all that computer literate, I am having a hard time using those programs. Any help/suggestions on how I could be able to cut the 89 minute movie in half to burn onto 2 vcds? (Or an easy way to compress it to fit one 1?) Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

These movies u've downloaded? R they in .avi format or mpg format?
If avi:
Convert them into mpg using TMPGEnc.
Read below.
If mpg:
There is an option within TMPGEnc that allows u to cut the mpg wherever u want so u should cut it somewhere in the middle.
U should now have 2 mpgs which is now small enough to burn onto CDR to make it a VCD.
Hope it helps u there.

1. Download VirtaulDUB, TEMPGENc and EasyVCD
2. Start VirtalDUB, and load the intended DivX movie
2b. Select Audio --> [i]Full Processing Mode
2c. Select Audio -->Conversion -->44100Hz
2d. Select Audio -->Compression -->No Compression (PCM)
2e. Select File --> Save WAV
2f. Select File --> File Information -->See what FPS the movie is running on, and write it down (needed in TEMPGENc). You will allso find the TOTAL number of frames youre movie has, so that in splitting the movie in half, you know what to enter in TEMPGENc.
2g. Exit VirtualDUB
3. Start TEMPGENc
3a. Select you're preffered setting in terms of size, bitrate and what have you..
3b. Insert the FPS you found in VirtualDUB into the [/b]Settings --> Video --> Frameratebox.
To split the movie in half:
Settings --> Advanced, doubbleclick on SourceRange and the rest you will understand, Im sure. If not, we'll be here.
