    .....into 2 equal video files?

Is there a free program that will do that?

  2. Do a search on "Splitting Files"; there are heaps of ideas on how to do it.

    Yes,
I found some things like bbmpg.

I'm new at this and looking for the easiest and simplest way without trying them all. Could you please tell me which is the easiest? Please?

Do I always have to encode? Or is there one that will just ask how many parts or Meg in each part, and just do it?

    I'd appreciate your thoughts

  4. The TMPGenc encoder will do it for you automatically. When you open TMPGenc, select File, MPEG Tools and there is an option to sepecity file sizes. I cannot be exact at the moment because I am not in front of my home PC; anyway, It is definitely there. Thanks.

    Regards,

    JOe.

I was just now looking at TMPGenc's message forum, and noticed that they say TMPGenc has old issues with dropping some or all of the sound on one part of a file it has divided.

    Has anybody noticed that?

Gosh, if a TMPGenc Rep. says that, does anybody have a suggestion of another file spitter that works well and easy?

  7. TMPGEnc really does have a problem with the splits having a little bit of the end audio cut off. I thought at first that I was doing something wrong but I've tried numerous attempts at cutting the same SVCD mpg file and it still gave me the same results; and now reading that it's an official problem, I personally wouldn't recommend cutting with TMPGEnc.
