  1. i have a few movies (mr deeds, lilo and stitch, men in black, minority report) downloaded in .avi format.
    they are all labeled RFM-movie title-proper-ts-(disc number).avi

    i'm also having trouble playing these files on my computer, i know they are all complete. any thoughts on what the problem might be?

  5. sure, if that are in DIVX format, then extract the audio into a WAV file, and then contert into a new mpg file. here are 2 links that tell you how to do each of those things. If your file is not in DIVX, and just in AVI format with another codec, then you dont have to extract that audio, but it might be good to just to be safe.

    make sure your standalone DVD player can suport SVCD first, I know mine does, and there is a large difference between svcd and vcd, front what Ihave seen.

    I believe that the problem you are having with the video is that you might not have the right codecs files installed. I had the same problem before and I installed codecs files divx 3.11 and 4, also the nimo codec pack. That should help you viewing the files. Wish you good luck.
