Is there a program where you can make a vcd straight from an avi file, instead of having to encode it to an mpeg?

  2. DVD2SVCD has an AVI2SVCD mode that works really well for me (after a little avisynth script editing). You can download it at www.doom9.net.

E-mail me at revjake@stouthouse.org if ya need help. However, before e-mailing, I do ask that you check out the totally unrelated site www.stouthouse.org.

No there is not, the AVI has to be encoded to a mpeg1. This can be done in one go with programs like Nero, which you can use the AVI with (Not recommended) or with TMPGEnc. The AVI is not in the correct format, it has to be decompressed (Video and sound) then re-compressed into a compliant mpeg.

If there were some faster way, we would all be using it, TMPGEnc is by far the most popular program used to do this work.
