If this is not the right forum, I am sorry. I didn't see anything more fitting. Tried the search already, didn't come up with anything close.
I am working on a CG space battle video. The video portion is done, as is the main (left and right) audio tracks. Now I have to put in the gun fire effects, explosions, etc. I normaly use Vegas 3.0a for my video, and SoundForge 5 when needed for audio. But neither will let me set up surround sound channels. I have looked everywhere, and found lots of nice editors, but so far nothing that does surround sound. I seem to remember an older version of Cakewalk (7 or 8 maybe), but I tried the newer Sonar and it doesn't. (atleast not that I could find.) I need soemthing where I can see the wave form, and a video preview pane. Something like this, but with right and left rear channels as well. Any suggestions?
I found a few references to appz that would encode 6 wavs to AC3, but I have to create the waves first, and that will require the above. All of my effects are short sounds that will have to be copy/pasted into the track.
