  1. Anyone seen this error before?

The requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format. Check that the sampling rate and channel count of the input match those of the requested format.

I was trying to extract the audio from a divx movie to wav. Selected full process mode and no compression and up popped the error?

I just extracted audio from a divx using what you said....worked fine...
    What exactly are you doing?
Under audio> avi audio should be checked....that is for the source.
And are you just clicking on> save wav?
Full process...no compression.. all seem right....unless audio stream is corupt.

I just checked and normally I select direct stream copy....full proceessing uncompress file..and the wav ends up being huge...but either one should work.

  3. I have never had any problems before, using the same methods as you have. Not until now anyway.

I have watched the avi right through and the audio was fine. But I cant extract it.

I am extracting the audio to wav which will be used as the audio source for an encode to mpeg2 with temp. Point....to eliminate sync problems.
