I purchased a Dazzle DCS200 Creation Station and am having problems with it used in conjunction with Movie Star crashing Win XP. The system will occasionally reboot. Also, the capture screen in Movie Star, after working when I first tried it, no longer captures the incoming signal (I have tried both S-Video and composite ports).

The DCS200 uses USB2 and I am suspecting that the developers of the system haven't got the bugs out yet.

I am thinking about taking the DCS200 back and getting my money back... then waiting maybe a year until the prices on DVD recorders (the kind that will replace your VCR) and format to shake out. My primary purpose is to transfer my extensive library of college football games to vcd or dvd to save storage space.

Any comments on what I should do?

Yes your right, Microsoft will probable sell XP V2, which might work

I contacted Dazzle support and they helped solve the crash problem. They had me to change some of the Windows settings and it didn't crash. I am in the process of trying to figure out their sketchy instructions. I did burn one CD-R disc and tried it in the DVD. It worked just fine but was too grainy. However, I had the rendering set to the lowest setting.

I am now trying to change it to S-VCD and see if there is a difference.

Its shamefull why so many drivers need somethiing doing to them for them to work in XP.

Glad you got that part working, hope the rest also works.
