then dvd2avi i encoded with tmpgenc burnt with nero when i play it (Red Corner )back in a stand alone dvd player and on the computer i get the directors commentery instead of the normal sound track and am unable to turn it off

any one had this problem ??? or can the directors commentry be disabled or deleted in tempgenc

Sounds like you simply selected the wrong audio track. In DVD2AVI, under Audio, Track Number, the normal english track is usually 'Track 1' I believe.
