  1. I am wondering if there are any BIOS settings that I can check and/or change, that would help in the whole ripping/converting process. I'm using pretty much the default settings on my Abit KT7 board. My main goal is to see if there's anything else I can do (ie BIOS setting?) that would improve my rip speeds, I've checked everything else I can think of concerning my DVD drive (DMA, 80-pin connector, latest drivers & aspi). Also would like to improve conversion speed, but its the ripping speed that really has me stumped right now. Any suggestions?

  2. Upgrading your bios/bus controller may help but a faster processor will certainly help.

  3. Cool, I wasnt aware a faster cpu would help ripping speeds, thanks! I currently have an 800mhz Duron, and my so-called 8x Raite dvd drive only rips at 2x max. (I wanted to make sure I check every possible thing before getting a new drive, only to find its still slow.)

  5. Was there an increase in rip speeds? Thats mainly what I'm trying to improve at the moment. 2x just seems awfully slow.
