  1. I just got Jason X the movie from mIRC and it was zipped in a bin/cue files. I unzipped both and used VCDGEAR to get them working.

    Now then....

Windows player, plays Jason X properly with no problems but no other program will. The 2 parts of the movie have ".bin" extensions and when i rename the extensions to mpg it makes no difference.

What do i do as i want to use Tmpeg to convert them to mpeg so i can put the movie onto vcd?

    What do i do?

  3. Also, this may (or may not) help:

p.s. Please fill out the "computer details" section of your board profile (click that "profile" link at the top of this page).

  5. Vcd Gear will convert the bin/cue file to mpg in a matter of minutes which will then burn as vcd or svcd.

Not because I'm nosy or want to make fun of your system.

Because at some time in the future, you may post a question "of a type that would prompt someone to ask for necesary information in order to provide you with an answer. Filling out those "computer details" now will make it more likely that you won't have to type the information more than once (because it will be in your profile), and in that way you might get a faster response. Don't think of now - think of the next time, unless you are positive you will never ask a question on this board.

"What is your OS?", for example, might help someone to solve a file-size limit question. "What CPU are you running" would help judge if your encoding times are unusually long. "Are you NTSC or PAL?" might help solve a frame rate question. I could go on and on; there are hundreds of examples. The data might not help, but why not have it there? You might like to type those things more than once and delay a solution until they ask and you answer, but you'd be a rare person if you did.

To answer briefly - because it may save you time and effort in the future.

Can you open the bin file with an ISOBuster ?

    CDmage, WinISO, are good

  9. When you have a bin/cue file already, you can make a vcd or svcd (depending on the bin/cue file) with cdrwin. It works perfect for me.

You should still be able to use the raw to mpg option in vcdgear if you don't have your cue. Or you can generate a new cue using CDMage. Any disk imaging tool that accepts bin files will work also. Also you can mount the bin using Daemon tools and it will be read just like it were a cd, so you can copy the mpg (svcd) or dat (vcd) to your hard drive and go from there.

Yes you can burn the bin and cue as is, it is just a disk image. If there are any interactive features on the disk than this would be the only way to preserve them. However, there is no way to know how that disk was authored and from my experience, there are alot of ignorant people releasing disk images onto the net. I personally think its always best to extract the mpg from the bin and author it yourself. At least you know for sure what your getting.
