Hi. I downloaded a music video in SVCD format with the M2V extension. Right near the end of the video there is some corrupt sound. I would like to edit the file somehow and cut out the bad bit of sound, then reencode it to SVCD format so I can burn it as a SuperVideoCD.
I tried de-multiplexing the file with TMPGENC but it wouldn't let me do it. It lets you MULTIPLEX M2V files but not DEMULTIPLEX them! Then I used DVD2AVI and saved the project, which gave me a D2V file and an MPA file. I loaded the MPA into Cool Edit v 2.0, edited the bad audio then saved it as a WAV file. Finally I used TMPGENC to try and make an SVCD compliant MPG using my D2V and WAV but TMPGENC just says (filename) can not be created. I would appreciate if anyone could give me some tips on how to fix this problem or correct me on anything I'm doing wrong from the outset. Thanks.![]()

As far as demuxing is concerned: Try renaming the file from *.d2v to *.mpg. Normally, d2v means that it's a video only file, so it would contain no audio to demux, which is why TMPGEnc's demuxing dialogue doesn't look for d2v files.
To get audio and video together again, I would not suggest reencoding the video part (which you're apparently planning to do). Simply convert your wav file to an SVCD compliant mp2-file and then use TMPGEnc Tools to mux the video from your d2v-file with your newly created mp2-file.
Oh, and if TMPGEnc says "Filename could not be created" that could be a sign that you're trying to save your file to a filename that already exists. Normally you would get a dialogue asking whether to overwrite the older file, but it could be that the file in question is already open and can therefore not be overwritten (this could even be caused by the file being highlighted and showing a preview of it in Windows Explorer).
