  1. KIT:
    HP 1.4Pm 256mb - 15gig free
    Belkin USB Video II
    Software: Windows Movie Maker and MGI Video Wave.

    Problem one:-
    Both these applications freeze sometime making me have to power off laptop.

    Problem two:-
    Apart from the above the MGI Video Wave generally works - but the files are huge (10 secs - 40mb) - so not really practicle - - - How do I make smaller files on creation (can use Virtual Dub to reduce but need original file smaller).

    Problem three:-
    Windows Movie Maker - nice small files - but won't record audio because it shows something like *Belkin 16k audio" in the list but only lets me choose Belkin Audio which seems to put all the sound in the first couple of seconds on playback - very odd.


    I have the latest XP driver for the Belkin device.
    Composite input
    Tonnes of disk space

    Any helpers?

  2. Possibly the screen saver is turning off the USB power on activation in XP ... I forget how to turn this off
