need hepl joining 2 movie files....

i try to use Virtualdub to join 2 file and it say "cannot append segment: the video streams have different data formats." how can i make it have the same data format??? if any 1 know how to join file plz help me. thank

Its saying that the AVI's are different, may even use a different codec, so it cannot do this.

You have two choices;

Vdub
Make one of the AVI's the same as the other, you need to select File > File properties on both to Identify what the difference is, then you would need to use full processing mode to convert one to match the other (selecting the same codec etc)

That's long winded, better to convert them both to mpeg1 or what you want the final format to be using TMPGEnc, then use split/merge to split it in half (If necessary) If this is for VCD...
