  1. I keep having this problem with Ulead, and I want to find out if it is common and if there is a work around.

I am using it to author DVD. I just want to add 1 file with no menus etc. Whenever I add a file over 4 gig, Ulead only sees the REMAINDER of the size of the file over 4 gig (ex. 4.5 gig, ulead sees the file as 500 meg total size etc). I am on win2k.

I have captured with 1394 -> AVI using MGI Video wave and converted with tmpgenc. I have also captured with 1394 -> AVI with Scenalyzer and converted with tmpgenc. I have tried the above and used CCE to convert to mpeg2 also. I have captured straight to MPEG2 with a Dazzle DVCII. Ulead treats all the mpeg files the same. Under 4 gig, no problem works fine, over 4 gig, remainder of file only.

I called Ulead and they said no problem, even though their forum has several users with this issue. They suggest capping and converting using Ulead. Seems kind of picky to me.

Sonic LE will take these same files and works just fine, I like Ulead because it is faster.

Could it be some setting in the mpeg2 file that Ulead does not like?

    thanks

  2. I'd say it's a bug, Ulead would say it's a feature! (Just kidding) Try the DVD workshop from ulead, it works with larger files then dvdmf.

  3. 1. I use ntfs and have used 4.3 gb mpeg2 files in DVD MF & WS, make sure you apply the synch patch as it does help, my problem was it did see the entire file, but I had trouble making chapter stops past a certain time frame, once patch was applied chapter stop issue went away.

  4. Works OK with for me. I used it on 4 4.1gb DVD 's.

however, my problem with Ulead Movie factory is trying to get somebody to answer their
Tech support section in their website, after I fill in the form and submit, its returned as undeliverable.

I sent emails to 3 different addresses, all answered by an auto responder.

The problem I have in WinXP Pro, is that M. Factory stops gpedit.msc from working.

Oh, just remembered, I did get one reply, she said she got the same thing but because she didn't know what gpedit was for she couldn't help.

I replied to her, just gat an auto reply.

I proved quite conclusively that M. Factory is to blame.
Have a nice day. thank you.

  5. Well first off I think XP is the problem 8) hehehe. Tht's why I run wink2, as there seems to be alot of problem under XP for Video related processing, though there are a good contingent of people who have no problem. I do not know if you have patched DVD MF as if you have not I highly recommended it.
