I always rip my dvds using dvdx now. I have had wonderful results so far with the dvds I rip. I always do the rip in svcd and the encoding time takes like 9 hrs.
Yesterday I got a couple dvds from a friend and they were Artisan dvds. I don't know if it was because they were Artisan dvds or not.. but they didn't rip. It ripped the Artisan advertisement logo and thats about all. I got this error right before it ripped the movie:
DVDx Error
MPEG2Dec: Too much sample.
Try other frame rate or change 'Detect/Force 24 Hz' flag.
Now a friend of mine says he had the same problem when ripping Blockbuster dvds, but I know they are protected. These were store bought and I want to know how to get around this error.
Thanks

DVD2SVCD is easy to, if you just take time to read the guide over @ http://www.doom9.org

Ya, i saw the dvd2svcd program but I like the on step programs so I can start it and go to sleep.
Anyways... The error said: MPEG2Dec: Too much sample.
Try other frame rate or change 'Detect/Force 24 Hz' flag.
Well I decided to try what it said. I did force 24hz under imput settings and it worked but..... Directors Commentary!!!!! Ahhhhh i am soo confused. I just noticed default frame output is 25.0 pal. Should that be 29.97ntsc? I live in the US.
BTW, I have DVDx 2.0(the newest version) so if anyone knows a solution.. please tell me.
Thanks,
