Just curious: Do you have to use Divx5 or can you use an older version?

  2. Unsure about the question but TMPGEnc allows you to convert WMV files to MPEG1/2 (.mpg) files, Just use open and select all files and then select the WMV file.

The only reason why I was asking this was due to a very stubborn asf
file I have. I have been trying to convert it to mpeg but with no luck.
The procedures listed in the topic look like my only hope.
The reason why I asked about the Divx 5 was I do not like adding new
codecs if the current ones work fine. I did not know if using another
Divx codec besides 5 would affect the outcome of the WMV - MPEG process listed by kenetik.

    Thanks.

  4. The process given will work for other codecs, I have used a similar process just to huffyuv codec. Personally I find the TMPGEnc method best for both ASF and WMV files.
