  1. I have been using tmpegenc with no problems converting divx movies into vcds and svcds. I went to convert an .avi to mpeg vcd and it wont show the video in the source range. It just stays blank but shows the audio. I havent changed anything and i figured maybe i had an off .avi file so i used one of avi movies i had on disc that i had already converted with tmpeg with no problems and iot wont read that either. I also downloaded new version 2.56 hoping that the new version wiuld help thinking that my copy had become corrupt. But still having the same problem any help would be appreciated. tia for your time. shawn hep

Go to Options -> Environmental Settings -> VFAPI Settings. Right click on the DirectShow drivers and increase their priority until the picture returns. I have had to turn this off for some frameserving applications and if you don't set them back to a priority, there will be no picture.

i had the same problem with virtualdub & TMPGenc & it was driving me crazy. All I had to do was follow the advice kindly given by Ostaf (see my posting) that is to re-register the codecs cos for some reason the programs couldn`t find them in the registry.

    Good Luck
