  1. I am using my FlyVideo 3000 to watch tv on my cable, only problem is it comes up negative, so the black is white and the white is black, all colours are opposites. Any one got any ideas that could help me?, mabey some sort of program that can change it back to normal.

  2. no one???, come on, someone has gotta know how to fix this problem?

  3. There is a filter for VirtualDub that will create a negative of the colours in a video. Can't remember the name, try looking on Donald Grafts web site (via VirtualDub homepage). Otherwise it would be simple to write such a filter. If you are completely lost let me know and I will write you one.

  4. That would be great, but for some reason, the video capturing doesn't work in virtual dub, it just says, the device is already in use, when its not. I have a suspicion it might be a driver problem, but i have tried all the available drivers and none of them seem to fix it.

    have you tried descaler?...

  6. sure have, descaler doesn't work either. Comes up at the start with "No suitable hardware". doesn't even load. The only program i have been able to succesfully watch tv with it is lifeviews program, and that doesn't allow any type of filters, just standard stuff.

  7. I bought a FlyVideo3000 and after some time chose to store it
in a nice safe plastic container - the garbage bin.

Do not waste your time. I am a A+certified tech (AUS) and it
took me hours just to get the most basic parts of the card working
correctly. Buy yourself a BT87x based capture/tv tuner. Stay
    away from FLyVideo or Lifeview.

  8. offline: "I am a A+certified tech (AUS)". I am computer engineer, i got all the basics working in about 15 mins, wasn't really any trouble really, but this one is a bit confusing, i'll work on it a bit longer, if i cant get it to work, mabey sell on ebay or take back to shop and tell them to shove it. But i would like to get it to work.

  9. oo-ninja,

You got the basic's working but no TV?
Excuse please, but what is more basic for a tv tuner card??

The fly3000 uses a Philips tuner and capture chip which
hooks on a software layer descaler to overlay the picture
(hence your 1st problem) and as a direct result gives
the worst bus latency problem in the history of add on cards
since the VESA standard (hence your second problem.)

It took me almost two hours to get the unit, inc. capture
    working, and the result was:

    a) no wdm wrapper support for win2k, winxp
    b) buggy wdm drivers for win98se
    c) unable to capture correctly above 352x288@25fps
    d) frame loss OR frame rate degrading at spec capture
    e) no vfw support

  10. hehe, good point man.
I will probably end up taking the card back, cos its been a real hastle. I think its just buggy all around, mabey get a ATI TV-wonder.

  11. i just bought this card and now i'm f$%ken regreting it!

fist of all, i instaled the drivers and utilities, restarted and then go to use FlyVideo Suite - and would you know it, it wants a cd key & and serial No. ----- that's all good. but there was not a key or serial No supplied anywhere with this card.
i have looked around for a ser No. and key , but haven't found anywhere.

has anyone got it to opperate successfully with software other that the LifeView sw that is bundled?
i have tried: VirtualDub - says card is being used
power director - crashes when u try to capture
    Premier 6 - not detected
power vcr - crashes when u try to capture.

please if you can help me out i'd really appreciate it.

  12. Try Virtual VCR: http://www.digtv.ws
You have to get used to it but works O.K.

    or Fly2000:
    homepage: http://auzol.narod.ru
if the link doesn't work try: www.japco.prv.pl/fly2000.exe
This looks nice but it crashes on my PC.

Are you capturing a french secam signal or an old TV signal?

  14. martink is right.

Use Virtual VCR for capture and DivX codec as compressor.
It will default to 720 lines and capture in DVD format.
I have captured from LD player and got very high resolution AVI.
I then use TMPEnc to make MPEG1 to VCD or MPEG2 to SVCD.
My SVCD played on DVD player can out fantastic.
    I am still experimenting.

Please try and give us feedback.

I have the same card and was not supplied with a serial number or CD key. So i sent them a nasty email and they gave me one. If you want it email me. All it is an editor/ convertor etc not all that great but its ok I guess.

As for your software, IUVCR is the best software to use with this card.. as it uses microsofts "directshow" which seriously speeds things up. It allows you to choose your codecs (instead of just AVI or MPEG).. So I usually capture directly to DIVX 5.02 and if your PC is fast enough, choose Quaterpixel in the Codec options to really make the quality crisp.

I dont think this is a bad card at all.
