  1. Hi, i heard that you can record up to 800Mb of data in a 80 minutes cd if you use mode 2 form 2.
I have tried Nero, Disc Juggler and Easy cd recorder, and none of them seem to have an option to choose mode 2 form 2.
Does anybody what i can do?

  2. mode 2 is vcd/ svcd

Just think of it as if you were going to burn a music cd 80 minutes of music fits on a 80min/700mb cd-r. no matter if it is over the 700 mb it will still burn the 80 minutes of music.

    Hope this helps

  3. Elchef,

It is possible to burn up to 800 mb of any type of data on a cd with use of some special tools. In particular you need to get the Mode 2 CD maker, Mode2 CD Maker GUI and the Riff CD/XA Filters (they can be obtained at www.doom9.net) however this is not a good idea for a divx. Divx and most avis have no built in error correction. By burning as an XCD you strip out the CDs built in error detection/correction and stand a good chance of having the disk go bad. Other video format (i.e. ogg and mcf) do have built in error correction and can be safely burned in this format. You can give it a shot, but I do not recommend it.

  5. Burn your 800MB on a 99min. 850MB CD-R, that should solve your problem, 99min, CD-R's work fine for what I use them for.

  6. Firstly, your burner needs to support 99 min CDR, mine does but will only burn upto 92 minutes. Secondly, your DVD player needs to be able to play these overburned discs. My DVD player will only play upto 88 minutes, then gets stuck in a loop. So although I have some 99 minute discs with a potential 19 extra minutes capacity, I can only use an extra 8 minutes.
