Best program to top & tail?

What's the best (and simplest) program to top and tail an mpeg file, other than TMPGenc, which I'm having problems with?

I just want to take the start and end off a TV capture, and want something that won't recode or anything, just cut the start and end points.

TMPGEnc merge/cut works very well on good mpegs, what is your problem.

You seem to be asking a question to which you've just stated the answer to! I'm having problems with TMPGence, ie it won't work properly on my system, hence the search for an alternative! If TMPGenc would do, I wouldn't need something else.....

That is hardly an explanation of what's wrong, we all have problems with TMPGEnc one way or another.

Ranging on not loading a AVI/mpeg to not being correctly setup and producing blank video.

Since TMPGEnc works on all the Windows versions, then you must me using a MAC then ?

No, Win XP, but the point is I can't do it on my system for someo reason with TMPGenc, so just want an alternative......

Why do you have your system in your signature ?, you have a button above for all that.

Can't help with an alternative, never used anything else that is so simple to use. There are people with XP using it though.

I've had that for ages.....the computer details button's pretty new, and I've just not got round to taking it out. It was there before to make it easier for any problems I was posting to be identified....

I know this does'nt really help, but I use XP pro and use TMPGEnc to cut and merge mpegs with no problems.

I think you had everything except what OS you was using, if I had know you were using XP I would not have replied
