??? What does that mean and why would someone want to do it?

I obviously have offended both you guys(and probably many others), and I truly am sorry.
My success at searching has not been good.
I'm sorry -
An mpeg stream contains much data belonging to different things, like timing, video, audio, and other data. There are several ways of muliplexing this data together to one stream, and if it's not done correctly, it will not play back correctly. VCD, SVCD, DVD, DVB, and so on all use a different method off adding all the data together into one stream.
Remuxing, or remultiplexing is a process where the data is put together in a new way so it conforms to a specific stream type, like for VCD and SVCD. -
now its my turn to apologize. Your post was about the 15th that I looked at today that could have been answered by the search feature. In retrospect, I shouldn't have left my flippant response.
This is a good forum and I, personally, don't want to discourage people (specifically "newbies") from talking about stuff because we were all there once. It's possible that y'all might have the answer that I am looking for.
its also nice to see a fellow texan out there -
When I first joined this board, most users were only too happy to help any way they could, even if a question had been asked a 1000 times before.
We are now seeing more post like fantomlord, which I find a total waste of time. Why gun people down?
Lets face it 95% of the posts here have been answered before and if we all did a search we could probably find the answers to most questions. If you can't be helpful without being smart, don't post.
And to you joeAgain don't let negative posts put you off. I have only just come back to this board after a long break and I fully intend on asking questions that have been asked before, lets face it, answer to a question now may not be the same 6 months from now.
Best Regards

I just try to push the in the right direction or answer the question outright if I see that they're complete newbies. Alot if them just don't know what all these terms are and with since sometimes an alternate word is used for the same term more than the original they can't find the results they want. I usually come here now and just do a search of what I'm looking for. If I don't then I post but I do agree most questions here have been answered several times already.

fantomlord
You may not have meant anything by it, but it was taken that way.
The first two lines of your post were a waste of time (because of the way they were taken). All you needed to do, is do a search and paste the URL and also post a link to the FAQs. If you had done that it would have pointed him in the right direction.
Look, when I started on this forum users were only to happy to help. I can remember some of the dumb questions I used to ask when I first joined this board. The only reason I stuck with it, was because of users not talking down to me and not making me feel like I was asking dumb questions.
I have only just come back to this board after a very long break, but I have noticed some of the posts on this board have not been the kindest.
In any case best regards to all

In defence of fantomlord, I believe the saying goes something like this.
Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for life.
It is beneficial for users of the forum to be pointed in the direction of the search function, rather than someone else doing the search, and posting the link for them. You tend to learn (and remember) much more by doing some of the work for yourself.

I think you missed the point completely.
joeAgain didn't take it that way at all and neither did I and nor did macleod
This is a forum board where we are supposed to help each other not scare people away. -
I don't think I missed the point.
You suggested that fantomlord do the search for joagain and then post the url himself. Surely it is beneficial if joagain does the search for himself, and if a satisfactory answer to the question is not forthcoming, then post in the forum. A simple search of the forum should be the first port of call.

There are ways of getting the message accross in a lot nicer way.

In addition to the search feature to the forums, there is also an excellent F.A.Q. list in the "Help/Site Navigator" menu to the left.
Glad i could help joeagain.
Good day.
Here's the link - http://www.vcdhelp.com/faq.htm - -
There is a difference between discussion, and posting questions that have been posted and answered many times before.
If you want a link to a URL perhaps you should try this one.

I am not trying to discourage anyone from posting questions, I just think taking a minute to do a search first is not too much to ask.
To take it to extremes, what would be your reply, if any, to the question :-
What is a VCD ?
The first person you should be seeking help from is yourself.

In what way do you feel I need help? Surely you couldn't be offended, when someone speaks up?
