  1. thing is i have used other VCDs on my system and they play just fine either with the DVD-rom player or Windows Media Player. its just one VCD that is giving me problems, the funny thing is on a few other systems the VCD in question seems to read okay, in other words...i see the folders, not the 2 music files.
So my question is the VCD in question faulty or is there some quarky set-up i need to change in order for that VCD to be reconized as a "video CD" and not as a "music CD"?
as for the scsi***.vcd file that is fine. has anyone had this problem where some vcds are reconized and some aren't?
    thanks.

  2. Are the music files you can see 44bytes big?
And is the disc your reading from a copied disk?
I had this problem with various copied Cd's I tried to open (not just VCD's) with an old drive I had ............ turned out the drive was on its way out.
