  1. Hi guys and gals,

I'm having trouble creating a menu for my SVCDs using Nero. I can set it up all ok and the 'preview' shows exactly how I want it to be like, and so I go ahead and burn it. However, when it comes to playing the SVCD in my stand alone player, the menu doesn't fit the screen properly, with both sides 'disappearing' off the side of the screen, and so chopping parts of the menu text and images... the actual movie however plays perfectly. And so back to Nero, when I click 'properties' on the menu file in the browser window, it says it's resolution is "704 x 576 PAL". This seems a strange horizontal resolution which I think could be causing the problem but I can't change it. Any ideas?! Anybody else get this problem? If it helps I'm actually creating CVDs (352 x 576 PAL) but as you know you have to use the SVCD option in Nero. I doubt this matters though as the menu screen seems to have a resolution for itself. Also, none of the 'scale' options in the menu creation tab help... but they are just for the background image though, and it's also the text which is overflowing from the screen so it's not that that's causing the problem. What do you think?

  2. Anyone?!

I've tried using the Ulead tools for my menu / chapter needs but there doesn't seem to be a way to create CVDs. If you try SVCD it's says the file is not compatible and doesn't let you proceed (unlike Nero), and obviously choosing DVD creates what it calls a 'mini-DVD', and my standalone player didn't take to it. Can anyone help?
