  1. I have a video capture card already installed in my pc and would like to hook it up to my VCR to capture some programs from TV that I have on video tape. Now for the question........

According to my manual, the plug that is suppose to hook up to my vcr is an "S plug" , however I do not have one on my vcr (standard video/sound plugs that every VCR has .... red/yellow and black, but no "S plug").
Also according to the packet with the "S plug", it is for video and not audio, so how would I capture sound as well?

    Sorry for the questions

    Thanks in advance

  2. There are RCA-SVideo adaptors available commercially, although it is quite strange that the manufacturer of your capture card decided not to suply one.
All you need to do is to plug the standard cable from your VCR (SCART-RCA or RCA-RCA) to such adaptor, while the audio part of RCA should be plugged to your sound card (Line In). In case that you want to get stereo audio input, you'll also need a RCA-Phones adaptor, which is also available commercially. The cost of both adaptors is next to nothing, so buying them shouldn't left you with no money in your pockets

  4. most capture card have more than one input . one composite and one svhs at least. you need to connect your video out to the composite in on your card, and the sound to your line in, don't forget to set recording properties to line in if you want sound.
