I have looked at the guide here at vcdhelp, however, I am a newbie, so some things I have got to ask anyway. The SVCDs that I want to make into VCDs are already burned to disks and I have thrown out the files. Do I have to take the files from the disk and put them back in the computer to be able to work with them? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but cmon guys, help me out! If I did not phrase this question correctly, please let me know and I will try again. Thanks to all that respond.

Yes- just copy the "AVSEQxx.DAT" file in the (I think) MPEGAV folder on the SVCD- you might have to rename it AVSEQxx.MPG in order for TMPGenc to use it (not really sure....).

So you mean copy the AVSEQxx.DAT file (found in the MPEGAV folder) to a directory, and it will contain all the data that I need to make the conversion? Also, thanks for the help Gargoyle, very quick of you!

Surely you are talking about a .mpg file rather than a .dat file for SVCD?

Why, is there no DAT file found in SVCD? So I should look for the mpg file within the mpegav folder? So when I find the mpg file (in the folder) what do I do with it? Do I save it in the directory of my choice for later retrieval? Or am I supposed to take it straight from the mpegav folder and load it into a certain program? I read somewhere that I should check for errors in the file when performing this process. Please answer asap if possible, thanks for all the help so far1

    Thanks,
